The Dubai Mall is an integral part of Downtown Dubai, the flagship mega-project by Emaar Properties. At 12 million sq ft, the mall’s total area is equivalent in size to 200 soccer pitches. Galeries Lafayette, France’s leading lifestyle retailer and Bloomingdale’s, America’s leading department store, are the anchor stores of the mall and marks the first time both retailers are opening stores in the Middle East region.
The Souk is a distinctive shopping precinct with wide walkways and featuring jewellery shops, accessory outlets, traditional Arab clothing and handicraft stores, among others.
A unique new colossal exhibit from the Late Jurassic Period, a Diplodocus longus dinosaur skeleton is now on display at The Souk. Visitors have the opportunity to get an up-close look at Dubai Dino, the 155 million-year-old dinosaur skeleton which is 24.4 metres long and 7.6 metres high.
Level Shoe District is a concept store dedicated to footwear and accessories. Spanning over 96,000 square feet, the store offers a unique and unparalleled shopping experience where luxury and contemporary style meet to usher in a new era of retail. Some 250 designers come together under one roof in 40 carefully selected boutiques.
A popular shopping & leisure precinct, The Village offers a relaxed and informal shopping experience with the retail mix focuses on trendy denim brands for active lifestyles. Featuring a fully retractable roof, The Village is open during winter months enabling visitors to have a true outdoor feel.
A centrepiece of the mall is Dubai Aquarium & Underwater Zoo, one of the largest aquariums in the world. With the capacity to hold 10 million litres of water, Dubai Aquarium illuminates the marvels of the ocean floor and showcases one of the most diverse collections of marine animals worldwide.
Dubai Aquarium has thousands of aquatic animals, including sharks and rays. Its 270-degree acrylic walkthrough tunnel makes for incredible close-encounter experiences with some of the most fascinating underwater animals on the planet. A special 'lunar-cyclic' lighting system changes the ambiance of the tank depending on the time of day.
Underwater Zoo is located above the aquarium and provides an interactive approach to educating children and visitors on the ecology and sustainability of marine life.
KidZania® is an award-winning children’s ‘edutainment’ concept that has been introduced to the region an exclusive deal with Emaar Retail. KidZania® is an 80,000 sq ft interactive mini-city that combines play with learning in a fun and innovative way.
The Dubai Mall also features the Olympic-size Dubai Ice Rink that can host international, competition-standard events. With a seating capacity of 350, Dubai Ice Rink is a family-oriented attraction open to the general public, with regular ‘learn to skate’ programmes taking place. The rink also serves as a multi-purpose venue that can be transformed into a concert arena, or host private functions. A giant 20m x 10m LED screen is positioned at one end of the rink, and a selection of cafés offer a leisurely and relaxing experience for the entire family.
Spread over 150,000 sq ft and located on the second level of The Dubai Mall is Reel Cinemas with 22 screens, which can seat 2,800 people.
The Dubai Mall has the largest and most extensive Food & Beverage offerings within a mall in the region, with over 200 outlets from fine dining to casual. The mall’s promenade is lined with an array of themed cafés and restaurants, each offering an al-fresco dining experience with views of The Dubai Fountain and Burj Khalifa.
