Burj Dubai is now over 780 metres and climbing… - December 30, 2008
Burj Dubai, the world's tallest building developed by Emaar Properties, set several global milestones in high-rise construction in 2008, an epoch-making year for the tower. On course to open in 2009, Burj Dubai has reached a record 780 metres (2,559 ft) height, and has over 160 storeys, the most number of floors in any building.

Burj Dubai now a record 688 meters tall and continues to rise - September 1, 2008
Burj Dubai, the iconic tower being developed by Emaar Properties PJSC, has reached a new record height of 688 meters (2,257.2 ft). The tower became the world’s tallest after surpassing North Dakota, USA’s KVLY-TV mast (628.8 metres; 2,063 ft) in April 2008. Currently at over 160 storeys, the tower also has the largest number of floors in any building.

Emaar increases height of Burj Dubai; completion in September 2009 - June 17, 2008
Burj Dubai, the world’s tallest building being developed by Emaar Properties PJSC, will be taller than previously envisaged, with height enhancement work already in progress. Construction of the two communication floors is ongoing and structural steel work has started. The final height of Burj Dubai will be revealed only on its completion in September 2009.

Burj Dubai completes 50 per cent cladding work - February 5, 2009
Burj Dubai, the world’s tallest building being developed by Emaar Properties PJSC, has completed 50 per cent of its cladding work that is undertaken on an accelerated schedule by Arabian Aluminium Company. More than 12,000 panels covering an area of over 50,000 sq m has been installed on the tower, which is now the world’s tallest free-standing structure. Burj Dubai is now 604.9 metres high. The final height and number of levels have not been revealed.
